Americana: Maura Allen + Pamela Murphy

About This Event

Maura Allen and Pamela Murphy bring their own takes on American nostalgia together this June, join us on the 25th for "Americana." Americana pairs two artists whose work is rooted in the imagery and quiet storytelling of everyday American life. Maura Allen's paintings pull from a well-worn visual vocabulary, signage, small-town scenes, the kind of details that feel instantly recognizable, and renders them with a warmth that borders on affectionate. Pamela Murphy works in a similar register, her compositions carrying a gentle, character-driven charm that turns ordinary subjects into something worth lingering on. Together, their work offers a wide-ranging look at the country's visual culture, filtered through two distinct but complementary points of view. Arriving at the height of summer, it's a show made for long days and slow looking. Join us June 25th, 6-9 PM, for the opening reception of "Americana" at Gallery MAR, Park City.
